Nagar valley is a former princely state and one of the ten districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The valley is along the Karakoram Highway as it travels north from Gilgit. It is important to share activities in Nagar Valley because many people are unaware of the valley’s history, culture, and tourist attractions, all of which can be found together with its breathtaking surroundings. You can always get a close look at the magnificent Rakaposhi and Diran Peaks by walking to their respective base camps.

Best Tourist Attractions in Nagar Valley

Nagar Valley is a valley filled with magnificent hamlets and enormous mountains. Some of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Nagar valley are discussed below.

Minapin Village

Minapin is on the left side of the Hunza River. It is conveniently accessible as it has a direct connection to the Karakoram Highway. Adventurers who desire to hike to Rakaposhi base camp frequently stay overnight in this stunning location in Pakistan.

The community of Minapin has its own little dam for producing electricity. Along with various fruits and vegetables, the area also has a lot of cherry and mulberry farms. In addition to letting you buy their products at a fair price, the owners also allow you to eat the berries while giving you a tour of their farms.

If you are planning on taking a road trip to Khunjerab Pass in Gilgit Baltistan, you can easily include a night’s stay in this village in your travel itinerary.

Rakaposhi Base Camp

Rakaposhi also known as Dumani (“Mother of Mist” or “Mother of Clouds) is 27th in the world and the 12th highest mountain in Pakistan and is well known among travelers. One of the simple hikes that depart from Minapin Valley is the base camp trip. It leads to the locals’ lush green grassland known as Hapakun Meadows. You will arrive at the Rakaposhi Basecamp once you have crossed it. It is a 2 to 3 days trek.

In the heart of the mountains, with a breathtaking view of the Rakaposhi, there is an amazing zipline project for adventurous people that provide a source of fun, enjoyment, and pleasure. The zip line is around 1,000 feet high and around 2,000 feet in length and its speed can reach 80 kilometers per hour.

Rush Lake

Rush Lake, which lies more than 15,000 feet (4,694 meters) above sea level, is the highest lake in Pakistan. It is also the 25th-highest lake in the world. The rush lake is located in the Nagar Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan. The lake can only be reached via a trek through the Nagar and Hopar valleys, or via a trek through the Hopar Glacier (Bualtar Glacier), and Miar Glacier.  Although the route may be dangerous but the scenery is breathtaking. The nearby high peaks of Spantik or Golden Peak, Malubiting or Malubiting West, Ultar Sar, Phuparash Peak, and Miar Peak offer panoramic views.
