Hazarganji Chiltan National Park is located in the Mastung District of western Balochistan, the largest province of Pakistan. It lies between Chiltan on its west and Hazarganji on the east. Chiltan National Park is about 20 km from Quetta. Because of Balochistan’s largely arid geography, this park is one of Pakistan’s most peaceful and well-preserved ecosystems and a must-see for all nature lovers. It was created in 1980 to preserve the habitat for the endangered Chiltan wildlife that is found nearby. The Chiltan Peak, at well over 3300m, is the highest and offers a fantastic view of the surroundings.
Hazar-Ganji, which means “a thousand treasures,” accurately describes this National Park. According to history, there are more than a thousand hidden jewels in the folds of these mountains, serving as remains of the passage of armies through time. The militaries followed by the Bactrians, Scythians, and Mongols, all traveled this way.
